The crew moves furniture out of the work area, then protects baseboards and vents before any sanding begins. We sand the floor starting with a coarser grit to strip the old finish and surface damage, then work through progressively finer grits to smooth the bare wood – edges and corners get hand-sanded or edge-sanded where the drum sander can’t reach. Once the surface is fully cleaned of dust and debris, we apply stain if one was selected, let it penetrate, then apply the first finish coat – after it cures, we lightly screen-sand for adhesion before laying the final coat and allowing the floor to cure fully before any foot traffic.
